Derek started out hands-on in the Southern California construction boom of the 1980s. In the 1990s after attending USF and settling into the San Francisco Peninsula, Derek was the lead field superintendent on many commercial and residential construction projects on the Peninsula.
With the formation of Kulda & 7 Sons Construction and St. Joseph’s Design, a land development company, in the period of 2001 - 2014, Derek built 14 new single-family homes with his wife, Juliette, and completed many remodels, all the time supporting Juliette in her real estate business.
With Juliette, Derek co-founded the Kulda Group in 2014. He supports the development of a full-service real estate team. He focuses on business vision, financial reporting, recruiting, and on-boarding personnel needed to achieve annual business goals for serving more families and individuals with their real estate needs initially around our hub in the San Francisco mid-peninsula area and then around the greater San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
His job is also to adapt hub systems for expansion businesses, identify new expansion locations, recruit expansion partners, serve as a liaison between expansion businesses and the hub, foster a consistent culture across the organization and create clear growth paths for the organization and its members.
